Faisal Arabo, Publishing Pioneer

Faisal Arabo was a Detroit-area pioneer in publishing and broadcasting who dedicated his time to the education and entertainment of thousands of Iraqi Americans who longed to stay connected to their ethnic and cultural roots.

In the two archival photos above, generously provided by the Chaldean Cultural Center and Museum, Faisal is seen broadcasting his radio show, circa 1967, when it was first aired, and in a television control room later in his career.

After decades of contributing content in print, on television and radio, Faisal passed away in August of 2023 and is survived by his wife Virjean.
