Adopt-A-Refugee Anniversary Party
More than 150 people, who are among the many who have helped raise more than $550,000 for Iraqi refugees, gathered at the Hampton Inn in Commerce Township on September 18 for a one-year anniversary celebration of the Chaldean Federation of America’s Adopt-A-Refugee-Family Program.

Radio Days
About 125 people gathered at Clear Channel in Farmington Hills on August 27 for the Chaldean Chamber’s Quarterly Networking Meeting. Attendees got to tour Clear Channel’s impressive facilities and mingle with on-air personalities. A raffle arranged by the company netted $600 that evening for the Adopt-A-Refugee-Family program.

Despite iffy first-day weather, some 12,000 people turned out for the Third Annual Chaldean Festival held August 9-10 in Southfield. Presented by the Chaldean Chamber Foundation, part of the proceeds benefitted St. George Chaldean Catholic Church in Shelby Township.

Chaldean Commencement
The 2008 Chaldean Commencement was held in June 12 at Southfield’s Millennium Center. This was the 26th year where Chaldean high school and college graduates were honored. The event was sponsored, as always, by the Chaldean Federation of America, this year with help from the six local CASAs (Chaldean American Student Association) – now known as SOCA (Student Organization of Chaldean Americans).
