Fabulous food in February



I have the fondest memories of my childhood winters, especially Sunday mornings waking up to the smell of haresa (morning barley soup). It is a staple in Chaldean homes across the globe. I have tried making this rich thick soup in my crock pot but I have yet to perfect it like my mom.

I have decided to hold off stirring the pot of the barley and instead just beg my mom to make it more often than she planned to this winter.
