Albertine Kallabat
Albertine Kallabat (nee Ankawi) died April 1, 2013. She was 83 years old, and a current resident of Farmington Hills, MI. Albertine was born December 12, 1929 in Baghdad, Iraq.
Albertine married her beloved husband, the late Salim, on May 7, 1955. The couple and their young family moved to Detroit in 1966 with little more than strong family values and a hard work ethic.
Family was, by far, the most important thing to Albertine. Besides always being there for anything her children needed, Albertine always was there to support her extended family as well. She was regularly sought out to give great advice. Albertine also supported her family financially starting at a young age by making clothes. Whether it was for family or to sell she would make anything from pajamas to formal gowns. She was also an amazing cook and hosted many family get-togethers while cooking fantastic meals.
Faith was one other very important part of Albertine’s life. She was an active member of Mother of God Chaldean Catholic Church, and that community was a vital part of her life. She was also active with the Chaldean American Ladies of Charity. Albertine was a simple woman who did not worry or care about material possessions. She loved and cared most for her family and her church.
She was the devoted wife of the late Salim; beloved mother of Bushra Kashat (Mike), Yvonne Yasso (Moukles), Bashar, Ricky, and the late George; loving grandmother of Skyler Salim Kallabat; Michelle, Michael, and Miranda Yasso; and Heidi Kashat; sister of Suad Husaynu (the late Hakki), the late Ghanim Ankawi (Nasra), Tarik Ankawi (Muna), Samira Dabish (the late Zuhair), Yousif Ankawi (Nada), and Raad Ankawi (Vicki).
Faiz (Frank) Marougi Kattola
Faiz (Frank) Marougi Kattola, son of Marougi Kattola and Kamila Kattola, was born on October 15, 1956 and died on February 28, 2013.
He was a hard-working man and an amazing father to three children, Julian, Kayra and Joseph. He was also the oldest of five siblings; therefore when his father died he became the man of the house at the young age of 22 and had to take care of his two sisters, Faiza Kiriakoza and Fatin Maizy, and his two brothers, Freddy and Alfred Kattola.
Faiz was a great and honest man who was great with his hands. If anything was broken or needed to be repaired he could do it without a problem. He was also a huge follower of the Lord; he went to Mother of God every Monday night for Bible study.
We didn't know you would be with your mother and sister so soon but your time was reached and we greatly appreciate the time we got to have with you. Rest in paradise, we all love you.
