Friday, August 13 the Chaldean Women’s Committee hosted another event in their ‘Notable Women’ series, this one with two Honorable guests—Judge Hala Jarbou and Judge Yasmine Poles. Attendees were treated to a continental breakfast along with a question-and-answer session with the federal judge for the Western District of Michigan (Jarbou) and an Oakland County Circuit judge (Poles). Both women credited the community with helping them achieve their lofty positions.

Restrictions on gatherings didn’t stop the community from celebrating a live-streamed Ba’utha Thanksgiving! It is estimated that our parishes have collectively lost over $1,000,000 in 2020 due to closures. Through your generosity, the dinner exceeded all expectations, raising over $450,000 to aid local parishes.
Read MoreOn Monday, January 25, the Chaldean Community Foundation, in partnership with the Macomb County Health Department, administered free mobile COVID testing in the parking lot of their community center. No ID or insurance was required but appointments were mandatory. They also offered free blood pressure screening.
Read MoreOn Thursday, January 21, the Chaldean Community Foundation held another PPE Giveaway to the community in a drive-thru format. Over the course of the event, the team distributed over 865 kits to the local community. The kits included facemasks, face shields, hand sanitizers, antibacterial wipes, and more. Since August, CCF has provided over 6,300 kits to the local community along with various other donations to local churches, schools and many more organizations.
Read MoreThe CCF hosted their annual Breaking Barriers Christmas Celebration for individuals with special needs on December 19. To keep everyone safe, the event took place using a drive-thru format at the Chaldean Community Foundation in Sterling Heights. The fun outdoor event featured Santa and his little elves, as well as gifts to those with special needs. 130 families attended and each family received a blanket, thanks to a generous donation from Mark Savaya. A special thanks to all the volunteers that assisted during the event, including the Holy Martyrs Men’s Group.

This year, the restrictions on gatherings made it difficult for the CACC to host their sit-down dinner for more than 900 people in April.
