Cultural Awareness

Turning Point Staff with Stacy Bahri from the CCF.

On October 10, the CCF in Sterling Heights welcomed Turning Point for an all-staff training focused on the cultural aspects of the Chaldean community. Turning Point empowers survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking through comprehensive services and resources while advocating for community action to end oppression and violence.

Nearly 50 staff members from Turning Point in Macomb County joined the CCF to learn about Chaldean history and faith, cultural norms and traditions, migration and demographics, economic impact, and more. The group also enjoyed a traditional Chaldean breakfast and toured the facility and learned more about the services provided to more than 50,000 individuals annually.
