Rising to the Occasion

Nana Bernadette Sarafa’s Kitchen at CCF West buzzed with excitement as young aspiring bakers gathered for a hands-on baking class led by Genevieve Kashat, a standout contestant from Food Network’s Kids Baking Championship.

Participants learned the art of crafting the perfect chocolate chip cookie, measuring ingredients with precision, mastering step-by-step recipes, and developing essential baking techniques along the way. Some adventurous participants went beyond the basics, whipping up creative cookie variations that wowed their peers.

Working in pairs, the group honed teamwork and kitchen skills mixed in with laughter and flour dust alike. Best of all, each student left with their homemade treats to share with their families, bringing a little extra sweetness home.
