Restaurant Reconceptualized

Barbat Holdings, a West Bloomfield-based real estate investment firm, has acquired It’s a Matter of Taste, located at 2323 Union Lake Road in Commerce Township. The restaurant will be re-concepted as Aurora on the Lake by Prime Concepts Detroit, the hospitality group behind the popular Aurora Italiana brand. The transition will include renovations to the property, which sits on 11 acres along Union Lake, with plans to reopen in early 2025. Aurora on the Lake will offer a refined menu featuring steaks, seafood, and Italian cuisine, alongside gourmet carry-out options.

A Multi-Cultural Experience

The Chaldean Community Foundation held the morning session for Leadership Macomb’s Arts & Cultures Day on December 11. As part of the planned agenda for the day, participants explored the rich history and contributions of the Chaldean community in metro Detroit. The presentation, led by Stacy Bahri, Strategic Initiatives Manager at the Chaldean Community Foundation, provided an overview of the Chaldean community’s journey, culture, and impact in southeast Michigan.

Friday, December 13 was a day to remember for CCF’s Breaking Barriers participants and their families. 240 individuals gathered to celebrate the annual Christmas celebration; the group enjoyed dancing to their traditional favorite music, partaking in good food, socializing with friends, and reconnecting with other families.
