Fire and Ice Festival

Join your friends in downtown Rochester for the 13th annual Fire & Ice Festival. This free celebration of winter, set for January 17 through19, is among the premier winter events in Michigan. Activities include dog sled rides, a tube sledding hill, ice skating, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, ice carvings, marshmallow roasting, food trucks, and a taste fest/beer tent. There is no charge for any of the winter activities. Face painting is available, and returning this year is a collegiate ice carving competition. The Big, Bright Light Show illuminates downtown Rochester each night in a glorious rainbow of colors. A spectacular firework display lights up the sky Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., and the seventh running of The Brooksie Way “Chill at the Mills” 5k race happens Sunday morning. The Oakland County Pet Adoption Center offers dogs for adoption during the festival. Fire & Ice is presented by Vibe Credit Union and is sponsored by Oakland County Parks, Oakland County, and Downtown Rochester. Details: Oakgov.com/fireandice.
