“Miniature Masterpieces — A String Serenade,” will be held Sunday, January 19, at 2:00 p.m. at St. John’s Chapel in Plymouth. Enjoy a delightful afternoon as the Michigan Philharmonic Strings create a Sunday serenade sure to please. Musical treats from Holst, Bartok, and Tchaikovsky, along with a little local flair, are all part of this special concert. Michigan Philharmonic’s music director and conductor, Nan Washburn, has curated a unique concert, mixing petite pieces with distinctive flair. A surprising range of beautiful music, from Bartok’s Romanian Folk Dances to Paquito D’Rivera’s Wapango, will delight as the audience enjoys the surroundings of the beautiful St. John’s Chapel. Adding to the mix, two lovely pieces by local composer and violinist Stuart Ross Carlton will certainly create a beautiful musical afternoon.
