Both the incoming Iraqi Consulate Adnan Almaajoon and outgoing Consulate Dr. Mustafa met with Martin Manna and the Chaldean Foundation on many issues including deportations. “We want to welcome you here and continue a strong relationship with the consulate and office of foreign affairs,” said Manna to the new Consulate.

Manna addressed the immigration and deportation issues including cases in Federal Court; there are about 130 people currently detained. However, there are 1400 people at risk of being deported. The Detroit Consulate office is most responsible for stopping deportations. “Our door is open, said Almaajoon. “We can work with you on many issues not just on deportations. We recognize your value and strength in the community.”
