Bengali Cultural Center Visit

On Monday, July 14, 2025, the Chaldean Community Foundation and Chaldean American Chamber welcomed Mr. Hussain Iqbal and Mohammed Islam from the Mridha Bengali Cultural Center in Warren to CCF-West for a meaningful visit and conversation. The meeting focused on learning more about the Chaldean community and exploring opportunities for collaboration between the Bengali and Chaldean communities in Warren and Sterling Heights.

World Bank approves over $1 billion for projects in Lebanon, Syria and Iraq

BEIRUT (AP) — The World Bank said Wednesday it approved over $1 billion dollars for infrastructure and reconstruction projects in Iraq, Syria and Lebanon. The biggest amount went to Iraq, where the World Bank approved $930 million to help improve the country's railway infrastructure, boost domestic trade, create jobs and diversify the economy.

The Ongoing Sheetz Saga

For years, the Chaldean News has been covering the gas station wars—with the Pennsylvania-based Sheetz Corporation planning to open 50-60 (down from nearly 100) stores in metro Detroit, and existing gas station retailers opposing their plans. A recent article in support of Sheetz’ development calls the opposition “illegitimate” and accuses various principalities of government overreach.
