Cultural Awareness Training

The Chaldean Community Foundation (CCF) continues to promote cultural understanding and strengthen services for the Chaldean community through its cultural awareness training initiatives.

CCF provided cultural awareness training to victim advocates and staff from Common Ground, a nationally recognized crisis services organization known for its comprehensive approach to crisis intervention and support. The training focused on best practices for serving Chaldean individuals and families impacted by violent crime, equipping advocates with the knowledge and tools to provide culturally responsive, compassionate, and effective support.

CCF also recently led  Chaldean Cultural Awareness Training for the team at AgeWays Nonprofit Senior Services. The AgeWays team sought to deepen its understanding of Chaldean cultural norms surrounding care for older adults, including how older adults and their families approach seeking assistance, as well as best practices for communicating about aging-related issues.

CCF thanks both organizations for their commitment to cultural understanding and to providing informed, respectful, and culturally responsive services to the Chaldean community in Metro Detroit.
