Celebrating 20 Years: The Chaldean Cultural Center Founders Gala

The Chaldean Cultural Center (CCC) celebrated its 20th Anniversary Founders Gala on Friday, October 20 at Shenandoah Country Club. It was a night reminiscent of an ethnic bazaar, with a Chaldean bread lady, music, and other entertainment along with a stroll through the museum, a short documentary and commemoration.

17th Annual CACC Business Luncheon

The Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce hosted the 17th Annual Business Luncheon on Friday, October 13 with Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan as the keynote speaker. Approximately 300 attendees from the Chamber’s member businesses as well as invited dignitaries and elected officials enjoyed the opportunity to network and even ask questions of the mayor at the event at MotorCity Casino’s Sound Board Theater. During the program, Detroit City Councilman Coleman A. Young Jr. presented Chamber president Martin Manna with a Spirit of Detroit Award, acknowledging the Chamber’s 20-year anniversary and thanking the Chaldean community for keeping Detroit in groceries after most businesses fled the city following the 1967 riots.

5th Annual CCF Gala

The Chaldean Community Foundation hosted its 5th Annual Awards Gala on Friday, September 22. More than 700 people attended, including dignitaries from across the state of Michigan and special guests from Iraq. During the program, the CCF honored Karam Bahnam with the Servant Leadership Award. Karam, one of the founding members of the Eastern Catholic Re-Evangelization Center (ECRC) and REVIV3, is a successful entrepreneur who has dedicated much of his time to helping others deepen their faith.

Fr. Namir Narra Ordination

On July 1, the Chaldean community gathered at Mother of God Cathedral in Southfield, Michigan, as Fr. Namir Narra was ordained to the priesthood. A graduate of Sacred Heart Major Seminary, Father Narra was ordained through the laying on of hands and the invocation of the Holy Spirit by the Most Rev. Francis Y. Kalabat, Bishop of St. Thomas the Apostle Chaldean Catholic Diocese. Father Narra will serve as parochial vicar at St. George Chaldean Catholic Church in Shelby Township, Michigan. Please keep him in your prayers as he begins his new journey as a priest!

Chaldean American Chamber Celebrates 20 Years in Style

The CACC hosted its 20th Annual Awards Dinner on Friday, April 28, naming Ron Boji of Boji Group as 2023’s Businessperson of the Year. The event drew a crowd of nearly 900 to Shenandoah Country Club, where guests were treated to individual bottles of champagne and “Heavenly Dates” at each place setting. Speakers included Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Congressman John Moolenaar as well as the guest of honor, Ron Boji, and Mike Denha, last year’s honoree.
